New scheme to give everyone access to the Internet
Do you work with any Manchester residents who are vulnerable, don’t have access to the Internet and would benefit from a device such as a Chromebook or Tablet?
Manchester Libraries and Work and Skills teams have set up a new internet and device scheme to help get Manchester’s most vulnerable digitally excluded residents online. We have over 300 devices to give out over the next three months.
Are you eligible?
If the resident is eligible for the scheme, they will receive a device to keep along with internet connectivity if needed until 30 June, 2022, along with one-to-one support on how to use the device.
To be eligible, they must live in Manchester, be 19 or over, have no Internet access and have at least one of the following – long term health conditions, disability, be over 65 or be of low income.
Let’s get digital
Also, if you work with any residents that have Internet at home, but need support, skills or confidence to get online, then we can help. Please let us know and we will give them ring them and give them all the support they need.
Email their details to digitalinclusion@manchester.gov.uk. Or they can contact us direct themselves, by texting us on 07860 064128, leaving their name and area of Manchester where they live.
