Gorton Hub offering an impressive amount of services for the community

The Gorton Hub brings together a range of local services under the same roof for the first time, creating a one-stop-shop for local people, all in a purpose built, highly accessible development.

This hub is a true representation of how partnerships can help drive large projects.

Services on offer include:

  • Library – a warm and friendly space with books, ICT and community activities such as Storytime and Age Friendly hour

  • Jobcentre Plus - resources to enable job-searchers to find work, provides information about training opportunities and administers claims for benefits such as Universal Credit.

  • Manchester Adult Education Services (MAES): Adult Education courses in English, Maths, ESOL and ICT

  • One Manchester - employment, skills, literacy, digital support, and enterprise services for One Manchester residents.

  • Gorton Medical Centre - a modern and well-equipped General Practice

  • Manchester Local Care Organisation - community based health care and clinics including Health Visitors, district nursing, podiatry and physiotherapy, plus a new integrated health and social care team working together to meet the needs of the local community.

  • Café (to open early 2023)

  • Pharmacy (to open early 2023)

Cllr Bev Craig, leader of the Council, commented: “This is a momentous moment for the Gorton community as we welcome the first fully integrated space where health, social care, Council services, adult education and housing have been brought together. If you’re local to Gorton then this is your community space. So please drop in and take a look.”

The Hub building will be open from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 5pm on Saturdays.

Each of the services operating from the Hub will have varied opening times.*
